This vibrant poster advertises Le Petit Cabaret, a Parisian-American song revue starring comedian Miss Hilda Glyder at Dundee’s King’s Theatre in January 1916. Featuring a large touring company and a variety bill that included performers Louis Hart, David Fuller, and the comedy act 10 Looneys 10, the programme reflects the popularity of revue, music hall, and international variety entertainment in Britain during the First World War. The bold red and blue typography was designed to catch the eye of passers-by and convey the excitement of a packed theatrical programme.
