The object’s story

Blank on rear.

Donated by Gwen Whyte, who inherited them from her late aunt, who had been a neighbour of Lackie’s in Balmore Street, Dundee.

Transcription

To the STAR, Maryhill, in Glasgow.
This letter please convey;
Give it to GEORDIE LACKIE
Without the least delay.

But what does any married man
Want with any MARY HILL?
I’ve a mind G.L. your missus to tell –
She’d put you through the mill.
