The object’s story

Object Description

Blank on reverse.

Donated by Gwen Whyte, who inherited them from her late aunt, who had been a neighbour of Lackie’s in Balmore Street, Dundee.

Transcription

At West Graham St, one, thirty-nine
In Glasgow city, large & fine
Give this to Geordie Lackie; swell
Comedian; lodged with Mrs Bell

You’ll hear wild music in the air
For he has got his bag-pipes there
But postie we must not complain
If there we suffer grief & pain.
