The object’s story

Object Description

This poster advertised a variety programme at Dundee’s King’s Theatre for the week beginning 20 May 1918. The headline attraction was Zomah, billed as a “psychic phenomenon” capable of revealing thoughts and answering questions, reflecting contemporary public fascination with spiritualism and mind-reading acts. The bill also featured comedian Mark Coney, Signor and Madame Borelli, whistling entertainer Bert Coleman, vocalist Ellis Barrieton, contralto Ethel Hook, Harley Wonders, and the official wartime newsreel Pictorial News.
