Dundee Music Hall poster, December 1866
Poster
This poster advertised Insurrection of 1745!, a large-scale musical spectacle celebrating Prince Charles Edward Stuart and the Jacobite Rising. Featuring a cast of Scottish vocalists, dancers, and more than 60 Dundee youths, the production combined patriotic themes, music, drama, and elaborate staging. Such historical pageants were popular attractions in nineteenth-century music halls, blending local participation with theatrical spectacle.
