The object’s story
Object Description
This illustrated New Year postcard shows a young bagpiper accompanied by a Scots-language Hogmanay greeting wishing health, prosperity, and friendship in the year ahead.
The postcard is illustrated with a young bagpiper in Highland dress and is signed by the artist Donald McGill.
Donated by Gwen Whyte, who inherited them from her late aunt, who had been a neighbour of Lackie’s in Balmore Street, Dundee.
