CHUNG LING SOO

In a Performance of Oriental Splendour and Weird Mysticism, assisted by Miss SUEE SEEN, presents in rapid succession, the most beautiful, baffling and interesting Series of Illusions ever submitted to the Public. Chung Ling Soo will offer his Entertainment in Three Parts.

PART I

THE WILLOW PATTERN PLATE

In which Quaint and Exquisite Manipulative Tricks amuse and bewilder the most astute minds.

THE MYSTIC BOTTLE

The Stage being quite clear, there will be placed upon it Six Cases containing two dozen Bottles of Beer each. They are set one upon the other on an elevated Stand clear above the Stage. A Empty Cover is then placed over the Cases, immediately removed, disclosing the fact that the whole of the Bottles have disappeared, and in the place of them stands a marvellous Idol, the Label on it forms a Door from which emerges a Chinese Girl, beautifully costumed.

THE CREATION OF A BUTTERFLY

On a small Wooden Frame a piece of black Paper is stretched. This is hung on a thin Cord placed across the Stage. A silkworm is drawn upon the Paper, which bursting, reveals a large Golden Cocoon. The frame is removed, the Cocoon opens, and a Chinese girl emerges like an Oriental Butterfly.

PART II

A DREAM OF WEALTH

A Lady’s Trinket Box is placed upon a stand, which in turn is placed upon a Table. Milk is poured into the Casket, a Spirit Lamp is lit underneath, and upon the Casket being removed, streams of silver coins fall from it. Those, when a £1,000 note. This is suspended in mid-air and instantly it changes into an immense golden sovereign, which bursts into a star, from which emerges a Chinese Lady peering forth golden sovereigns from a horn of plenty.

HOME FROM MARKET

A Small Box is shown full of Market Produce, such as Melons, Pine-apples, Cabbages, Fruit of all sorts, &c. Box is emptied of its contents, showing it contains nothing more, but immediately produces a Charming Chinese Girl.

PART 3

THE WORLD AND ITS PEOPLE

In this Chung Ling Soo uses a small Globe of the World, from which he produces the different Nationalities, concluding with
