The object’s story

Object Description

This poster advertises a variety programme headlined by Signor Arturo Bernardi, billed as an “Italian Protean Artiste.” The bill also featured the acrobatic Five Whiteleys, vocalist Florrie Elliston, comedy duo Crystal and Saville, and impressionist Miss Ray Wallace. Like many theatre programmes of the period, it included “Actual Films from the Front,” reflecting public interest in events of the First World War.
