The object’s story

Object Description

This poster advertises a variety programme headlined by the 4 Londons, an aerial gymnastics troupe promoted as a sensation in acrobatic entertainment. The bill also featured Lily Langtry, Damerel and Rutland, violinist Violet King, Hilda Lethwaite, and the 4 Royal Scots. “Actual Films from the Front” were included in the programme, highlighting the growing presence of First World War newsreels in music hall entertainment.
